About

We would like to invite you to the 14th Annual Silver Lake Private Equity Case Competition, hosted by the Wharton Undergraduate Private Equity and Venture Capital Club at the University of Pennsylvania! The Silver Lake Private Equity Case Competition (SLPECC) offers a unique platform for students to explore private equity opportunities by selecting a target company and conducting a buyout analysis. The competition is open to students in any US or Canada-based undergraduate program (teams of 2 to 4), and teams can cross-register with undergraduates from any schools in the US and Canada.

Guidelines

Please refer to the following:

• The case competition is open to ALL undergraduates studying in the US or Canada with an interest in private equity transactions.
• Teams should register in groups of 2-4, and teams can cross-register across schools (in the US or Canada).
• All submissions and communication should be conducted by the team captain (Team member 1 on the registration form). Register your team as soon as possible.
• In order to participate in the competition, all registered teams are to submit both a two-page executive summary and all team members’ resumes by Sunday, March 3rd via email to sahais@wharton.upenn.edu with the subject line “SLPECC Executive Summary (Registered team name).”
• Top teams will be selected to participate in the final round. The final round will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at the University of Pennsylvania. All spectators are encouraged to attend.
• For the final round, teams are expected to perform an LBO valuation of the target company and prepare a presentation. A final version of the deck is due by Monday, March 18th via email to sahais@wharton.upenn.edu with the subject line “SLPECC Final Round Submission (Registered team name).”
• Buyout Proposal Restrictions: Select publicly traded companies with a minimum market cap of $500 million. You are free to explore both US and foreign buyout ideas.

Important Dates

• Registration and first round executive summary deadline: Sunday, March 3rd
• Final round participants announced: Wednesday, March 13th
• Final round presentation slides deadline: Monday, March 18th
• Final round at the University of Pennsylvania: Wednesday, March 20th
